Privacy Policy

Discoveroo (“the App”) is operated by Simone Biasotto (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

Location data. The App uses your device’s GPS to find nearby landmarks and deliver location-based narrations. Your coordinates are processed on-device and sent to our server only to generate relevant stories. We do not store your location history on our servers.

Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage events (e.g., stories played, features used). This helps us improve the App. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.

Voice input. When you use the Q&A feature, your voice is processed by OpenAI’s speech-to-text API to generate a text query. Audio is not stored after processing.

Purchase data. If you make an in-app purchase, payment is handled entirely by Google Play (or Apple for iOS). We use RevenueCat to verify subscription status. We do not have access to your payment details.

Advertising

The free version of the App displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings. Premium users do not see any ads.

Third-party services

The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob (advertising), RevenueCat (purchase verification), PostHog (analytics), OpenAI (narration and voice processing), Google Maps / Apple Maps (map display).

Data storage

Your preferences (language, voice selection, stories heard) are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. You can export or delete all local data from the Settings screen at any time.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. The App provides an “Export my data” and “Delete all my data” option in Settings. For any additional requests, contact us at the email below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
